The Midnight Test: What It Truly Means to Be an Entrepreneur

Entrepreneurship is often glorified as a path to freedom, innovation, and financial success. Yet, behind the scenes, it’s a journey riddled with challenges, uncertainties, and moments of deep introspection. Codie Sanchez captures this reality perfectly: "You aren't truly in the game unless you find yourself in the dead of night, head in your hands, sitting in the dark, with no idea what to do next." This quote resonates with anyone who has ever taken the leap into entrepreneurship. It speaks to the raw, unfiltered truth of what it means to build something from the ground up. In this post, we’ll explore why these “midnight moments” are essential to the entrepreneurial journey and how they can be transformative for both personal and business growth. The Midnight Moments: In the dead of night, when the world is quiet and distractions fade, an entrepreneur is left alone with their thoughts, fears, and hopes. These moments of solitude often bring forth the most profound quest...

The Neuroscience of Meditation

MINDFULNESS , HEALTH & HAPPINESS For thousands of years, there was no way of testing scientifically whether meditation really worked. It was a purely internal experience discovered and verified by each new practitioner within their own mind. In the last few decades, new technologies have allowed us to objectively measure some of the effects of meditation. We’re far from a complete understanding, but early findings are fascinating. At the same time there has been a revolution in the field of neuroscience with the discovery that the brain is not hardwired and fixed, even in adulthood. It is constantly changing throughout a person’s life. Everything we do changes the brain in some way. When we practice a skill, the brain regions we use actually grow bigger, and when we don’t use parts of our brain, these regions shrink. This is what scientists call neuroplasticity. All this adds up to the tantalizing question: How does meditation change the physical structure of the brain? Scienti...

The Habit of Your New Self

By  Dr. Joe Dispenza In order for us to create something new in our lives, we have to leave behind a portion of the known and familiar. This includes familiar thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and sometimes even relationships. For most people, leaving behind the illusory security of the known and stepping into the unknown can be a terrifying place. This is why change is so hard. It’s also why it’s so important to make your meditation practice a part of your daily routine. In teaching this work all over the world, I often times find people forgetting the reason why we put so much effort into our daily practice in the first place. It’s not to just create wealth, a new relationship, a new job, or new opportunities. It’s about who we become in the process. It’s in that act of overcoming our past and the familiar, known territories of our lives that allows us (when in that place of uncertainty) to not revert to the unconscious emotions, habits, and/or hardwired attitudes of the past. Introducing Meditation

The first principle of meditation is to be able to focus your attention, with the aim to free consciousness, by switching off the busy ‘mind chatter’.  Meditation is achieved by focusing either on a particular object external to the body, or even a function of the body itself, such as breathing or your heartbeat.  Maintaining a single thought or idea may also be conducive to meditation. Through meditation, a state of self-awareness, of equilibrium, optimum health, tranquility and the ability to really see, to hear and to be really present in your own life, are potential benefits.  The aim of meditation is to lead the body and mind to the highest states of sensitivity, perception and understanding. Meditation is the path towards the unlimited potential of human experience. Meditation helps to relax the mind and body and lowers anxiety levels and reduces tension.  The meditative experience will be different for each individual, but the essential aim is the same....
